539 days ago we lost my best friend, Kate. Our first day on earth without her, we decided life was too short to wait and we wanted to start our family. We thought for sure in a few months we would be doing a sweet Halloween pregnancy announcement and enjoying the happy tears of our family members after we shared the news.
It has been 539 days since we made that decision. 539 days of: ovulation strips, negative pregnancy tests, timed intercourse, fertility medication, crying in the car, getting our hopes up, ectopic pregnancies, surgeries, heartbreak, exhaustion.
After two ectopic pregnancies, I am "left" with one good tube and one good ovary. This ovary carries all the eggs I will ever have so it must be protected at all cost.
For my safety, our OB and fertility specialist agree that our next step is In Vitro Fertilization.
IVF is the process of fertilization by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining an egg and sperm in a petri dish. The embryo is then transferred to the uterus during a simple procedure.
The hope is that the embryo sticks to my UTERUS (Can I get an Amen?!) and that the baby continues to grow for the next 38 weeks into a healthy baby Westbrook.
Please keep us in your prayers as we begin this process. We know that the next few months will be difficult but that God will continue to lead us through His perfect plan! We will keep you guys updated and educated during every step.
We attended our first birthing class yesterday and had SO MUCH FUN! ❤️ I know it’s all fun & games until game time is really here 💪🏼 but it was so amazing to get all of the information, learn techniques, and see where we will bring #LittleMann into the world! 👶🏼 Honestly, it was such a special day— 🥰 just watching Chandler learn the techniques to help as much as possible made me so emotional. They taught us the power of “still touch” 🖐 and it’s just that. Him simply laying his hand on me and transferring that energy. ⚡️ The amount of support and love that comes from the simple touch of someone that you love so much is INSANE! 🤯 I’m so excited to go through all of this NEW with someone so special! We are sooo excited for this little dude to join the #MannFam 💙💙 __
