🖤Marriage is not a noun; it’s a verb! It isn’t something you get - but something you do! It’s the way you love your partner every day!🖤 I get so many messages and emails asking me about HOW to get the support of your spouse when starting up your business. I’m no expert, but here’s what helped us!✨ First off - you need to be open and honest with them! Share your excitement, your passion!🥰 Ask them if they would be willing to listen to your ideas, and provide you with feedback - include them in your journey! Educate them on the compensation plan and share with them the potential this business has - and WHY you plan on working hard to make that potential your reality!🙌🏼 Be clear about when you will be working on your business and set business hours! Honour both the business hours as well as the time you spend together! No need to be scrolling your phone during date night while you “work” - plan ahead and work smart!❤️ Ask for help! Whether that’s help with the kids during a training call, their iPhone photography skills to help you create content, or simply just someone to bounce ideas off of! In the beginning Alex had no clue what I was doing (my bad, I never really openly talked about it with him or took the time to educate him!) BUT he knew that it made me happy and was helping me get healthy!❤️ And that’s all that mattered to him! Now, he is my biggest supporter. He does a lot of behind the scenes work with my business, is my own live-in photographer, helps me create content, encourages me to get an email list going, is helping me build a website, incorporating my business... you get the picture!🤗 Including him in and educating him about my business has been SUCH an asset to me! Reach out to YOUR partner for support - you may be surprised how excited and supportive they will be!👏🏼 Does your significant other play a big role in YOUR business?🥰 #fullheartstrong ...
2019 has been a big year of change. As I settled into feeling like a full-fledged adult (is that feeling ever even complete?), changes have occurred and we all know humans aren’t always open to change. As the year began coming to a close, I began feeling some pretty intense growing pains. I severed ties with a couple of my close friends after some intense falling out. I’ve also met some amazing people this year and I feel so grateful to call them my friends. My emotions have felt incredibly used up and it’s been hard to focus on caring for tiny beings amidst major life changes.
Despite everything, I’ve never been more clear of who I am as a person and how I want to treat other people. I’m more cognizant of surrounding myself with people who love me for who I am and support growth, but not people who I make me feel like I need to stifle my personality. We’re all dealing with challenges in life and we all get stressed, but one thing we can all do is show respect and kindness to others when we have a conflict. I’m certainly not perfect (literally no one is), but I’m also coming into my own and have a pretty clear sense of myself, what I need, and what I’m not ok with.
The delicate kittens are now with another foster after weaning and they’re doing amazing. I also have some exciting adoption updates for the Lisbon-Spangle clan to share with everyone. One thing that has always brought me joy is fostering and I have every intention of taking in new little guys now that the dust has settled.
I am eternally grateful for the support form each and every one of you. From the donations and incubator fundraiser support to the heartfelt messages I receive, I feel so blessed to have you all behind me and it shows me that despite real life struggles, I have a whole team of cheerleaders rooting for the kittens. From every foster kitten who has passed through the Bottle Baby Fosters program and from me, thank you all for being awesome people and sticking with us. ❤️

Put together so neat
A little of this
A little of that
Makes the Soul complete
But, the layers are never ending
So we keep pretending
That we are alone
Feelings, thoughts and emotions
We claim as friends
What an illusion
Superficial layers are only skin deep
Unraveling at its core
Something we seek
A spark of light
That leads the way
As your redemption song begins to play...
